1.0.15 : Lobby update



Hello everyone,

Version 1.0.15 of Spicy Party comes with major changes to lobby creation and search. This update also brings its share of bug fixes. We will see all of this in this new devlog.


I. EVOLUTIONS

In previous versions of Spicy Party, the user had the option to create or join a lobby. He then had to define a certain number of parameters to configure his lobby or set filters to search for a very specific lobby. 

This system has shown its limits by generating the following two problems:

  • A long process and not intuitive enough to find a game quickly
  • Too advanced level of configuration making it difficult to find games that “match” with the chosen parameters

We therefore aimed to simplify access to a lobby in order to be able to play as quickly as possible (3 clicks maximum).


1. Find a game

On this first page, the user chooses whether they want to play in a public online game or in a private game with friends.

If necessary, a link to our Discord server has been added to this page, making it easier to find players.


2. Public game

In the case of a public online game, the user will simply have to choose the game mode and will be sent directly to a lobby.



3. Private game

In the case of a private game between friends, the user can choose to create a lobby (this time choosing the parameters of the game), or to join a lobby via a token provided beforehand.




4. Lobby display

The lobby display has undergone some small changes, namely the design of the “Wanted” poster and the ready button which is now much larger and indicates the number of players waiting to be able to play.



II. BUGS

Below is the list of bugs fixed for this new version:

  • Correction of the display of the shop tile buttons
  • Fixed the bugged tile on the Island map (pawn stuck on the tile)
  • Fixed showing the wrong user when stealing coins
  • Fixed overflow of insult and mockery buttons at the end of the game
